A Londoner by birth, Sarah now lives and works in Cardiff, Wales. She creates her functional, hand-built ceramics in her home studio, alongside teaching pottery to adults with learning disabilities.
Having studied at Cardiff School of Art and Design between 2007 and 2010, Sarah returned to London to run a pottery studio for 5 years, where she taught adults and children of all ages and abilities. During this time, she attended classes with ceramicist Richard Heeley to develop and hone her craft. Moving back to Cardiff with her husband in 2016, Sarah has now made beautiful South Wales her home.
Sarah’s ceramics are made from high-fired flecked stoneware, ensuring her pieces are suitable for everyday use. She wants her work to be handled and used, so that everyday tasks are imbued with joy and pleasure.
Sarah’s desire to make functional pieces results in ceramics that explore the balance between fragility and strength, with each bespoke piece exhibiting her signature soft colour pallet.
